The Downtown Market

The Downtown Market
is still going strong and has become the social event for the town on Saturday mornings. It is really the place to be. Many vendors still have blueberries and there is an abundance of corn, eggplant, tomatoes, peaches, okra, squash, watermelon, peas, butterbeans, and greenbeans. Some vendors have homemade salsa, pickles, jelly and preserves. The Market now has honey and it has been very popular. There are delicious fresh baked goods, such as cheese straws, fried pies, cakes and breads.

Don't miss out on the fun...and don't forget to thank the growers for their time and effort! See you Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Broad Street---downtown Alexander City. And don't forget that downtown merchants are opening at 8:00 a.m. for your convenience. Stop in and see what they have for you!

If you haven't bought your tickets for the auction Saturday night, they will be on sale at the market. See Andrea Peacock in the coffee booth. Tickets are $30.00 per person, but will be $35 at the door. The auction begins at 6:00 p.m. at the Russell Corporation Sales Office.

Come down to Operation Downtown!
