Special Called Meeting

March 19, 2008

The Tallapoosa County Commission held a special called meeting March 19, 2008 at the Courthouse in Dadeville, AL at 9:00 a.m. Tallapoosa Publishers was present.

Chairman Allen called the meeting to order.

Chairman Tapley gave the invocation.

Chairman Allen led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Chairman Allen called the roll. Commissioner Coley was absent.

Public Comments from Citizens:

An unnamed citizen addressed the Commission concerning when the change in chairmanship would be taking place. Commissioner Shaw stated that change was scheduled to take place in April, but Chairman Allen is involved with the Sejin project. The Commission does not want to change chairmanship in the middle of this project so Chairman Allen will remain chairman for an additional month or two.

Consent Agenda:

County Engineer David Moore addressed the Commission concerning the purchase of a van and trucks. Moore stated that the highway department has already made $67,197 from the sale of surplus items. Moore stated that for line item 551 (direct motor vehicle cost), the highway department budget was zero. Moore requested that as soon as the numbers are in from JM Wood, that the Highway Department budget be amended. Moore recommended that line 47315 under revenue be amended to match the total sales from JM Wood and that line item 551 under expenditures be amended to the net total (difference in budgeted amount and the actual amount). Commissioner Tapley made a motion to accept Moore’s recommendations. Commissioner Shaw seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

Commissioner Shaw made a motion to surplus a list of equipment for the Highway Department. Commissioner Thweatt seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Attachment
