The Tallapoosa County Commission reconvened its September 8, 2008 meeting on September 30, 2008 at the Courthouse in Dadeville, AL at 9:00 a.m.

 

Chairman Shaw called the meeting to order.

 

Chairman Shaw gave the Invocation.

 

Chairman Shaw led the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

Chairman Shaw called the roll.  All commissioners were present.

Commissioner Tapley made a motion to amend the Agenda Commissioner Coley seconded the motion.  The motion passed unanimously.  See attachment.

 

Commissioner Tapley made a motion to approve the budget for the Fiscal Year of October 1, 2008 through September 30, 2009.  Commissioner Coley seconded the motion.  The motion passed unanimously.  See attachments.

 

Commissioner Tapley made a motion to approve a Resolution for the Retiree Act 2008-555.  Commissioner Thweatt seconded the motion.  The motion passed unanimously.  See attachment.

 

Commissioner Coley made a motion to approve the contract with the Department of Youth Services for 2009.  Commissioner Tapley seconded the motion.  The motion passed unanimously.  See attachment.

 

Commissioner Coley made a motion to approve the Lee County Youth Development Center contract.  Commissioner Thweatt seconded the motion.  The motion passed unanimously.  See attachment.

 

Commissioner Coley made a motion to approve the annual bids for the Tallapoosa County Highway Department.  Commissioner Thweatt seconded the motion.  The motion passed unanimously.  See attachment.

 

Discussion Items

Commissioner Tapley thanked Commissioner Coley for the FEMA trailer that was used for Peckerwood Rescue Squad.

 

Commissioner Allen thanked County Administrator Blake Beck for all of his hard work on the budget and other financials.

 

Mrs. Gloria Sinclair thanked the County Commission for the cost of living raise.

 

Mrs. Linda Harris thanked the County Commission for the cost of living raise.

 

Sheriff Jimmy Abbett thanked the County Commission for the cost of living raise and the salary adjustment for the deputies.

 

Announcements

 

Commissioner Allen made a motion to adjourn.  Commissioner Coley seconded the motion.  The motion passed unanimously.
