August 12, 2013

 

The Tallapoosa County Commission held its regularly scheduled meeting August 12, 2013 at the courthouse in Dadeville, Alabama at 9:00 a.m.

 

Chairperson Thweatt called the meeting to order.

 

Blake Beck gave the invocation.

 

Commissioner Robinson led the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

Chairperson Thweatt called roll. Commissioners Coley, Robinson, Tapley, Thweatt and Holt were present.

Commissioner Coley made a motion to add as item J under the consent agenda the indigent burial of Jimmy Kendricks. Commissioner Holt seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

 

Consent Agenda

 

Commissioner Holt made a motion to approve the minutes of the July 8, 2013 meeting. Commissioner Tapley seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. See attachment.

 

Commissioner Holt made a motion to approve the warrants and purchase orders. Commissioner Coley seconded the motion.  The motion passed unanimously. See attachment.

 

Commissioner Coley made a motion to approve leave under the Family Medical Leave Act. Commissioner Holt seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. See attachment.

 

Commissioner Tapley made a motion to approve the reappointment of Glenn Fuller to the Horseshoe Bend Regional Library Board. Commissioner Holt seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. See attachment.

 

Commissioner Tapley made a motion to surplus inventory item No. 5026. Commissioner Holt seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

 

Commissioner Holt made a motion to approve for the Highway Department to seek bids for FY2014. Commissioner Coley seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

 

Commissioner Tapley made a motion to approve for the Highway Department to obtain right of way for the Hampton Bridge replacement.  Commissioner Holt seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

 

Commissioner Robinson made a motion to approve the seeking of bids for the resurfacing of Willow Point Road. Commissioner Tapley seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

 

Commissioner Tapley made a motion to approve the indigent burial of Gary Wayne Barrett. Commissioner Robinson seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

 

Commissioner Coley made a motion to approve the indigent burial of Jimmy Kendricks. Commissioner Holt seconded motion. The motion passed unanimously.
