October 15, 2013

 

The Tallapoosa County Commission held its regularly scheduled meeting October 15, 2013 at the courthouse in Dadeville, Alabama at 9:00 a.m.

 

Chairperson Thweatt called the meeting to order.

 

David Moore gave the invocation.

 

Chairperson Thweatt led the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

Chairman Thweatt called roll. All Commissioners were present.

 

Public Comments from Citizens

 

Lisa Johnson submitted a written request to address the Commission concerning a gravel road. She did not attend the meeting.

Consent Agenda

 

Commissioner Tapley made a motion to approve the minutes of the September 9, 2013 meeting. Commissioner Holt seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. See attachment.

 

Commissioner Tapley made a motion to approve the minutes of the September 9, 2013 meeting reconvened September 30, 2013. Commissioner Holt seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. See attachment.

 

Commissioner Holt made a motion to approve the warrants and purchase orders. Commissioner Robinson seconded the motion.  The motion passed unanimously. See attachment.

 

Commissioner Tapley made a motion to approve a proclamation declaring October 20-26, 2013 as PRO BONO WEEK. Commissioner Holt seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. See attachment.

 

Commissioner Robinson made a motion to approve the appointment of Melody Ritchie to the Tallapoosa County Department of Human Resources Board filling the unexpired term of Kim Koon Anderson. Commissioner Holt seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. See attachment.

 

Commissioner Robinson made a motion to approve a contract with the Department of Youth Services. Commissioner Coley seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. See attachment.

 

Commissioner Tapley made a motion to approve a request from The Cascades at Sandy Creek Homeowner’s Association accepting the roads in the subdivision as public roads. Commissioner Coley seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. See attachment.
