July 14, 2008
The Tallapoosa County Commission held its regular meeting July 14, 2008 at the Courthouse in Dadeville, AL at 9:00 a.m.
Vice Chairman Tapley called the meeting to order.
County Administrator Blake Beck gave the invocation.
Vice Chairman Tapley led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Vice Chairman Tapley called the roll. Chariman Shaw was absent. Tallapoosa Publishers was also present.

Revenue Commissioner Linda Harris addressed the Commission concerning the new abstract.
Consent Agenda:
Commissioner Allen made a motion to approve the June 9th minutes. Commissioner Thweatt seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Commissioner Allen made a motion to approve the purchase orders for the Highway Department and warrants for all funds. Commissioner Coley seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Attachment
Commissioner Coley made a motion to approve the contract with RDS/AlaTax for tax services. Commissioner Allen seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Attachment
Commissioner Coley made a motion to approve the South Alabama Mutual Assistance Agreement for EMA. Commissioner Allen seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Attachment
Commissioner Thweatt made a motion to approve the vacation of Shelby Lane. Commissioner Coley seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Commissioner Allen made a motion to approve to seek annual bids for the Highway Department. Commissioner Thweatt seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Commissioner Thweatt made a motion to approve the letter of designation for ARISE. Commissioner Coley seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Attachment
Commissioner Allen made a motion to approve a resolution reaffirming the position of Constable. Commissioner Coley seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Attachment
Old Business
Commissioner Thweatt made a motion to appoint Leisa Woody to the Citizen’s Advisory Committee for the East Alabama Planning Commission. Commissioner Coley seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Attachment
New Business:
Commissioner Allen made a motion to increase the power service inspection fee for the Building Department. Commissioner Coley seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Attachment
