Alexander City is a unique community located in the heart of east central Alabama. With a population of only 16,000, the city is more prosperous and progressive than others. Incorporated in 1931, Camp Hill is a charming community nestled in Tallapoosa County. With a total population of 1,014 residents, it embodies rural, small-town America. The town has a total area of 9.1 square miles.

Dadeville, named after Major Francis Langhorne Dade, has been the county seat of Tallapoosa County since 1828. Situated in the heart of Lake Martin, Dadeville is surrounded by historic buildings that house local businesses. The county courthouse is located in the center of town. Dadeville’s central location offers easy access to major cities like Montgomery, Birmingham, and Atlanta, as well as being close to Auburn University and Alexander City.

Daviston is a rural town located in Tallapoosa County. It was incorporated on February 16, 1887, and is believed to be the first town of its kind in the area. Its origins can be traced back to the opening of Native lands in 1832, which allowed for white settlement in the region. Chapman Road was constructed to facilitate this settlement. Over time, Daviston thrived and became home to various businesses and institutions, including the Daviston School. The school served as a community center for over a century until its closure in 1988. Despite this, Daviston’s legacy lives on through annual reunions celebrating its rich history and community spirit.

Jackson’s Gap was officially incorporated as a town in 1980. It covers an area of 8.4 square miles and includes land adjacent to the stunning Lake Martin. The town was named after a settler who lived there during the early 19th century, reflecting its historical and cultural significance in the region.

New Site, founded in 1849 and incorporated in 1965, is a peaceful community in north-central Tallapoosa County. Known for its small-town values, it features a Town Hall, Recreational Park, and Senior Citizens Center. Nearby, Horseshoe Bend National Military Park adds historical and natural appeal.
