Our Mission

Our goal is to help increase the quality of life for the citizens of Tallapoosa County by providing professional, efficient emergency communication response services.

One of the ways we do this is by utilizing a state-of-the-art 9-1-1 system. When a citizen, business, or visitor dials 9-1-1, their location and phone number are provided to one of the three 9-1-1 communication centers serving Tallapoosa County. The 9-1-1 communication centers are located at:

  • Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Office
  • Alexander City Police Department
  • Tallassee Police Department

Our communication centers are operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

When dialing 9-1-1, please be prepared to give your location and answer questions provided by the telecommunicator. Although our system provides locations, it is not always guaranteed that the location provided by your carrier will be the correct location.

Life-Saving Training

All telecommunicators are Public Safety Telecommunicator and Emergency Medical Dispatch Certified. We provide Emergency Medical Dispatch training for the telecommunicators at our office in Dadeville. The Emergency Medical Dispatch certification assists with providing life-saving instructions for:

  • CPR
  • Choking or breathing problems
  • Control Bleeding
  • Childbirth
  • And Other First Aid

Our Technology
